Both Hemp and Marijuana are considered to be under the same plant species, Cannabis; but are utilized for their different plant properties. They both look and smell very similar, but the three main differences are the Cannabinoid profile, how its cultivated and the type of products that are created from each plant.
WHAT IS A CANNABINOID?
Cannabinoids are chemical compounds that are found naturally in Cannabis and other plants such as Copaiba, that interact either directly, or indirectly, with receptors found in the Endocannabinoid System. There are over 100 different cannabinoids found in Hemp and Marijuana each having their own unique benefits when consumed.
THC is the most well-known cannabinoid which is primarily found in Marijuana which is known to produce a euphoric “high” feeling. As many people are wanting the health benefits and not the high, Hemp might be a better option due to that it is known to contain all the benefits of marijuana but only contains up to 0.3% THC producing zero psychoactive effects.
